Into the Blue appointed by the 1851 Trust to deliver The Land Rover BAR Roadshow

We're proud to announce we have been appointed by the 1851 Trust to co-ordinate their 1851 Land Rover BAR Roadshow in the coming months. A main part of our role will be to deliver Bermuda Tourism's activation of the roadshow; which will see over 750 young people across five locations around the country experience a sailing and educational day.

Into the Blue has recently delivered a project activation for Oman Sail for the sponsors of EFG Sailing Arabia The Tour (SATT). SATT is Arabia's leading Sailing Event which showcases the GCC region. We were responsible for the project management and activation of The Tour's team sponsors Al Mouj and Averda, as well as supporting with the title sponsor, EFG Bank Monaco. During the event's key stopovers of Muscat, Abu Dhabi, Doha and Dubai, Into the Blue were part of the team delivering the event's hospitality programme.

The last month has been very busy and exciting for the team on our work with MHI Vestas Offshore Wind to deliver their Parliamentary Blades Project. The project works with Parliamentarians across the UK to champion recent successes in British advanced manufacturing, engineering and technology within the offshore wind sector. In the last couple of days we successfully launched the "Brand the Blades" schools competition. The competition was designed by Into the Blue to help communicate to young people how electricity is generated by offshore wind turbines and the importance of renewable energy, in particular, offshore wind power. Engaging this younger generation in relation to this exciting sustainable low carbon UK business sector, and the underlying engineering, technology and advanced manufacturing, is designed to inspire the advanced manufacturers, engineers, MPs and business leaders of tomorrow. It was fantastic to see 25 of UKSA's Professional Superyacht Cadets Graduate from the first phase of their four year journey this month. Into the Blue designed and launched the'Women in Sailing Careers' initiative for UKSA and, as a direct result, UKSA saw an increase in females booking their courses. It was, therefore, even more poignant to see the highest number of females ever in this cohort.
Take a look at this article by us on the Superyacht News on this increased interest from female candidates for UKSA's industry leading course.

On 10th March we had the privilege of joining the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust team at their annual 'Cancer School' in Birmingham and run by Trustee Dr Dave Hobin, Consultant Paediatric and Adolescent Oncologist at Birmingham Children's Hospital. This is an opportunity for the team to find out how they can better improve what they do in order to continue to improve the experiences for the young people they work with.

Following this, the Trust held their largest ever Volunteer Training Day on the Saturday where nearly 150 people attended. Into the Blue took this opportunity to meet a number of volunteers who had sailed with the Trust as young people in recovery from cancer, who are now offering their services to assist with the communications of the Round Britain 2017 project as 'Local Heroes'. This role is specifically about helping to share the story of the voyage in their local areas and building the public interest prior to key stopovers.
