Into the Blue have managed Volvo Car UK’s sponsorship of the International Optimist Class Association in the UK for over eight years.
Each year, we activate a number of events including The Volvo Gill Optimist End of Seasons regatta, one of three main annual events that Volvo and Gill jointly sponsor.
The 2014 event in October marked the end of the summer sailing season in the UK for one of the world’s largest competitive classes, with around 300 of the country’s top young sailors taking part.
Into the Blue activated the event, presenting the Volvo brand and products to a predominantly family audience. This included Volvo car displays and driving experiences, along with advice and clinics for safe trailer loading and towing being a regular feature of these yearly events.
Into the Blue managed the attendance of Team Volvo’s top British sailor, Mark Andrews, to inspire the young competitors. He spoke to the sailors both on and off the water giving advice on improving racing performance.
Into the Blue’s activation also included the creation of content for social media and generation of media coverage.
