In 2008 His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said gave his blessing for Oman Sail to be formed. Initially their objectives included creating an around the world sailing race which would start and end in Mustcat, build a sailing school to teach young Omanis the sport and reinstate the maritime eminence the country once had. These objectives were soon fulfilled and today the scale and ambition of Oman Sail continues to grow by the year. Their sailing programme has already achieved many victories as part of our elite inshore and offshore racing teams.
